Brand Focus The Beauty That Is Tarte Cosmetics: Tarte was founded by Maureen Kelly from her bedroom in 1999! She created the brand out of a frustration with the beauty industry and the number of brands that still used chemicals, parabens and other unhealthy ingredients. She also wanted her makeup to be visually pleasing but felt there was nothing that ticked this box either. And so, Tarte was born! Today tarte is a leader in healthy, eco-friendly beauty, offering cruelty-free cosmetics containing super fruit and plant extracts, vitamins, minerals, essential oils and other naturally-derived ingredients. All the products are formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan, synthetic fragrances and gluten, just to name a few. To make the brand even more discerning, it has super long staying power and covers budge proof, waterproof, sweatproof and SPF formulas. Not only that, but the packaging is designed to be beautiful and environmentally friendly! The brand supports cooperatives in the Rainforest and develops sustainable components that can often be re-used to help reduce environmental waste. Equally important is that the brand is cruelty free and offers Vegan products.

Juvia’s Place Magic Palette – It Truly Is Magical: 2017 has so far been a great year for makeup! From amazing lipsticks and highlighters to gorgeous eye products, there has been an endless line of new things to try and I have spent a small fortune keeping up! I’ve particularly loved collecting new eyeshadow palettes of which there have been many! As a part time makeup artist eye makeup is one of my favourite areas to develop and improve so having a vast collection of eye makeup is high priority! One of the most anticipated eye palette releases this year was the Juvia’s Place Magic Palette! I already have the Nubian Palette 2 which I fell in love with immediately so when I found about this palette I knew it would be a winner and one I had to have in my repertoire! If you have never heard of Juvia’s Place, it is a cosmetics brand which was created in 2014 by Chichi Eburu, a Nigerian born wife and mother of two. She wanted to create a brand that was truly representative of her culture and took her inspiration from Queen Nefertiti, whose image is used on all the packaging. Juvia’s Place was initially known for great makeup brushes but now the name is synonymous with amazingly colourful and highly pigmented eye shadows! The brand is against animal testing and almost everything created is vegan.

Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics – How Lush Are They: As a beauty blogger, I try to test as many products and brands as possible. I like to keep up with trends, new releases and innovations so that I can keep all my readers up to date! So far in 2017, I have spent a lot of time testing skincare brands, partly because as I age I am more conscious of how important my skincare routine is and what I use on my skin but also because there are so many wonderful products to try now! There is something for every skin type, every age bracket and every budget so there is no excuse not to look after your skin! One of the brands I always knew of but had never really tried was Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics. Lush has been around for many years in different guises, and was started by Mark Constantine and Liz Weir in the 1970s in Poole, England. In the 1980s they joined forces with The Body Shop and worked with the brand for over a decade before The Body Shop decided to buy their formulas. As a result of the purchase, Mark and Liz were unable to open a new store of their own for 5 years and so they created an online mail order service called Cosmetics To Go. This was also successful and eventually bought by someone in Poole who took the formulas and the name. Along with the new owners of Cosmetics To Go, Mark and Liz then created Lush in 1995 and in 1996 the first international Lush store was opened in Vancouver, Canada. Since then, the brand has expanded across North America, has created a charity program called Charity Pot and an annual Lush Prize, which is awarded to individuals working in the field of cruelty-free scientific research, awareness-raising and lobbying to help bring an end to animal testing.

How Much Love Does ‘The Too Faced Natural Love Palette’ Deserve: As a beauty blogger and a makeup artist, I am obsessed with palettes! Whether they are lip palettes, eye palettes or blusher palettes, I collect them all. They are so useful when doing makeup on different people with varying skin tones, eye colours and face shapes, they are often cost effective and space saving in a makeup kit. Over the years I have amassed a vast collection of different palettes from different brands and I am always on the lookout for new releases, particularly in eyeshadows as eye makeup is always my focus, both on myself and for my clients. One such palette that was recently released is the Too Faced Natural Love palette. Too Faced is well known for its high-quality cruelty free makeup. It is a very popular brand, created by Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson in the 90s to bring some life and colour back into the cosmetics industry and since then the company has created some truly gorgeous fun and feminine makeup, including some lovely eyeshadow palettes. Their eyeshadows are generally very pigmented and available in a number of colours and textures so when they released news of the Natural Love palette there was huge excitement. Before long people in other parts of the world were posting pictures of it and swatches of the shadows. After a lot of researching, I decided I was going to buy it and within a few weeks of its release it was in my possession!

Beauty Subscription Box Reveal Birchbox Does ‘Buy One Get One Free’: If you have been keeping up with my posts you will know that beauty subscription boxes are a love of mine and I am always on the lookout for good offers, new boxes and limited editions! In May 2017, Birchbox, a subscription service that has been around since September 2010 for women and 2012 for men, offered customers a buy one get one free box so naturally I had to order one! In case, you’ve never heard of or tried Birchbox, it was created by two friends to make shopping for beauty products easier. As with most subscription box services you can join and cancel your subscription at any time BUT this only applies to the monthly plan with Birchbox, which costs £10 plus £2.95 postage and packaging. When you join you can complete a questionnaire about your beauty likes so that products you receive can be tailored to you in future boxes and you can pick from a monthly, 6 monthly or yearly plan. In each box, you will receive 5 personalised beauty products, and one of those products can be chosen by you or alternatively you can pick the design of the box. The products will be a combination of sample size and full-size items from various brands, some of which will be well known and some less so.

Discover One Of Italy's Finest Brands - Kiko Milano [Brand Focus]: If you’re anything like me, you will love exploring new beauty brands! I spend a lot of my time tracking beauty trends and launches and always get excited when I discover something new or find a new brand to love. Kiko Milano is one such brand! I first found out about Kiko on a trip to Italy many years ago, but at that time I was not into makeup and beauty as I am now and paid very little attention to it. Thankfully, Kiko opened a store in Birmingham right at the time when I was fully loving makeup and now I am a little obsessed with the brand! For those of you that don’t know much or anything about Kiko Milano, as the name suggests, it originates in Italy. The company was established and founded in 1997 and its mission is to give women cutting edge products to suit every budget. All their ranges are of the highest quality, thoroughly tested for safety and animal cruelty-free. There are numerous colours to choose from, different textures and consistencies and everything is delicately fragranced. Kiko produces makeup and skincare as well as makeup brushes and accessories, all of which are excellent. As an added bonus, Kiko also offers a points program called Kiko Rewards, whereby you can earn points to use online and in-store. I am a rewards member and personally love this scheme – I wish more makeup brands would offer something similar! Whenever I visit Birmingham City Centre, I never fail to visit the Kiko store, 1) because they are always introducing new products and makeup ranges and 2) because the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the brand and makeup generally. It is rare I leave the store without purchasing something and in this post, I wanted to share some of my recent purchases, all of which I have used and love!

Beauty Subscription Box Sneak Peak GlossyBox [Review]: Following the Little Known Box review, which is a reasonably new subscription box service, this blog is focusing on an established beauty subscription service called Glossy Box. Each box is delivered every month and contains 5 different beauty items which are generally full-size and tailored to your beauty preferences. You can subscribe for 3, 6 or 12 months and there are also limited edition boxes and a gifting option. I have tried Glossy Box a few times on and off but have never maintained a subscription with them as there are so many great subscription services to choose from now! However, I decided to order a recent box because Glossy Box provided an offer whereby you could receive a bonus box if you subscribed, so I thought why not see what is delivered?

Dippalli Explores Makeup Brands Charlotte Tilbury [Review]: If you love makeup, you will (hopefully!) have heard of Charlotte Tilbury. She is an amazing Makeup Artist, born and trained in London and she has worked with some of the best photographers, models and publications in the world. She has also worked with several beauty brands during her career and in 2013 she finally launched her own makeup range. This has grown exponentially since then and now includes a skincare range as well! In that time, she has won numerous awards and continues to create new and wonderful products for us! If you have never seen or tried her ranges, you are without doubt missing out! From the design of her packaging to the quality of the products, everything she creates exudes beauty, elegance, sophistication and glamour. I first discovered her when her brand arrived at Selfridges in Birmingham and she displayed all her looks. There are 10 in total (so far) and as soon as I saw them I was hooked. I immediately bought The Golden Goddess gift box and since that day I have kept a close watch on everything she creates and releases so I can keep building my collection! This brings me to this review. Not too long ago, I added to my Charlotte Tilbury makeup products and bought a selection of her more recent creations!
