Are you tired of having chapped lips? In order to protect your lips from winter and the cold, you might want to make your own natural lip balm at home. The best part about making your own lip balm at home is you know what is in it. Many people ignore their lips and how they look but lips are pretty significant in terms of attraction, you wouldn’t want to kiss someone with chapped lips, do you? Moreover, these lip balms smell delicious, in case you would like to get close to someone, just saying.

1. Pomegranate Lip Balm

What You Need

  • 3 teaspoons beeswax (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon pomegranate juice
  • 6 teaspoons coconut oil
  • Hand cream tins

Directions

Put beeswax and coconut oil into a little pot.

In order to provide good melting, it will be better to melt it within hot water instead of direct heat with the stove.

Fill a big saucepan with hot water and put a little pot inside it, we don’t want any water within the small pot so be careful. Wait until the beeswax melts completely, after that add pomegranate juice and honey.

It is hard to mix coconut oil and pomegranate juice so you might want to use a hand blender for that job. After you mix them thoroughly, put the mixture inside the tins but there will be bubbles over the top, you can either remove them at once or you can also remove them after you freeze the balm.

2. Vaseline Lip Balm

What You Need

  • Empty lipstick tubes or tins
  • 1 tablespoon Vaseline (amounts may vary due to herbal oil)
  • 4 teaspoons herbal oil (anything you like/have)

Directions

If you want to use empty lipstick tubes instead of tins, make sure it is completely empty and running.

Take Vaseline and herbal oil and start kneading until the Vaseline gets the essence/smell of the oil. The mixture you have should not be juicy so adjust the Vaseline amount as you knead.

Put the mixture into lipstick tubes or tins, your lip balm will be ready after keeping it in the freezer for 24 hours.

3. Orange Lip Balm

What You Need

  • 1 tablespoon Vaseline
  • Beeswax
  • Empty lipstick tubes or tins
  • Orange oil
  • Eyeshadow or lipstick (optional)

Directions

Melt the Vaseline within small pot using hot water as we mentioned before.

If you want to add colors to your lip balm, you can add lipstick or eye shadow until you get the color you want. After melting and mixing them, add orange oil. Since chapped lips may also stem from vitamin deficiency, orange oil can take good care of your lips and it smells so good.

Put the mixture into lipstick tubes or tins and then put it in the freezer, and you’re done.
