Even the administrative systems were designed by people so it is very likely they have flaws. I thought these things only happen in Turkey, I am so glad we are not alone in this. When you think this through, asking permission from the local government to make changes your own house just sounds crazy, but it is even more crazy when they deny your request.
Eric Vekeman is a retired shop owner from Belgium. Before he was retired, he had a food shop on the ground-floor and he decided to convert the storefront into a garage door. At that very moment, he made a huge mistake by asking permission from his local government. You should handle these things secretly and play dumb if you get busted.
Eric didn’t play dumb; he did something better than that. I mean, how many of us got the chance to own the government, right? When he got rejected by the local government, he switched the storefront with a fake wall and a window above it, both of them are on the hinges so they can be swung open. The city council found about this creative garage door but they couldn’t do anything about it because it met their guidelines.
