Sutlac is another kind of milk pudding in Turkish cuisine but unlike keskul it is easy to make it also it requires fewer ingredients. Only bad part about sutlac you need to mix it effectively in order to get a homogeneous mixture of milk and rice which requires a lot of effort.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup rice
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Coconut powder (optional)
  • Cinnamon powder (optional)

Directions

Before we start you should know that sugar amount can vary from people to people; you can resize it to your delight, it’s up to you.

Add milk into a large pot and start boiling. After boiling starts, add rice into milk and whisk them together. The important part is whisking because insufficient amount of stirring may result in all rice stick to the pan and burn. Stir them together and cook them until rice gets soft. After that point add sugar into sutlac and continue stirring, then you can put sutlac into bowls. You may garnish sutlac with coconut powder or cinnamon powder to your delight but we recommend using coconut powder.
